Abstract of the Final Exam: Flying Fishes
ABSTRACT GRACE RIJOL Y , SN: 2005-64-001. COMPOSITION AND STOK ABUNDANCE OF FLYING FISH IN THE SURROUNDING WATERS OF HUKURILA VILLAGE, SOUTH LEITIMUR DISTRICT OF AMBON CITY. SUPERVISED BY: D. SAHETAPY AND S. HAUMAHU . Research was conducted on March to July 2012 in Hukurila Village and surrounding waters. The aims of research are to identifying taxon composition, describe species and analyses stock abundance, as well as Catch Per Unit of Effort (CPUE) value of flying fish in the Hukurila Village and surrounding waters. Flying fish data were conducted using drift gill net that operated toward the night (18.00 – 21.00 WIT) and in the morning (06.00-10.00 WIT) base on moon age period. Sample of flying fish that obtained than identified follows Weber and Beaufort (1922), Munro (1967) Parin (1999).
